Joan B. Antoine
Joan B. Antoine

Tampa, FL - Joan B. (Nevins) Antoine, 86 of Tampa, died Thursday, January 25, 2010.

She was born December 29, 1923 in Yonkers, NY a daughter of the late Bessie L. and Albert J. Nevins.  Raised in Yonkers, she was a 1941 graduate of Charles E. Gorton High School and attended New York University and Fordham University in New York.

Joan spent her life as a journalist and editor and was the founder of Florida Builder Magazine of Tampa.

She was a member of Catholic Institute of the Press of New York, which was founded by her brother, the late Rev. Albert J. Nevins, MM.  A lifelong Democrat and a friend to all animals, she will be greatly missed by friends and family.

In addition to her parents and brother, Joan was predeceased by her brother, Bernard J. Nevins and sister, Eileen Nugent.

Family members include two nephews, Christopher F. Nevins, his wife, Eileen, and their children of Hampton, NH, Ed Nugent of New York; and a niece, Carol Mannion of Tampa.

Interment was February 1, 2010 in the High Street Cemetery, Hampton, NH.
