Anthony "Tony" J. DeFrancesco Jr.

Dover - Anthony “Tony” J. DeFrancesco Jr., of Dover, New Hampshire, a beloved husband, devoted father, loving son, cherished brother and uncle, loyal friend, and respected member of his community, passed away on August 21, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his family. Anthony was the devoted and loving husband of Marisa and the incredibly proud father of Noelle, Jayden, Fallon, and Isla. His family was the center of his world, and he cherished every moment spent with them. He loved deeply, gave generously, and took tremendous pride in the family he and Marisa built together. He was the loving son of Victoria DeFrancesco of Wilmington, Massachusetts, and Anthony DeFrancesco Sr. and his wife, Anita, of Woburn, Massachusetts. He was the cherished brother of Nicole Walker and her husband, Shawn, of Wilmington, Massachusetts, and the loving and supportive uncle of Justin and Spencer. Anthony was also the beloved son-in-law of Steve and Maureen Henderson of Hampton, New Hampshire, and the dear brother-in-law of Dan Henderson and his wife, Zoe, of Merrimac, Massachusetts. He was a caring uncle to their children, Ren and Vivi. He will be remembered fondly by his large extended family, including step-siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, his brothers and sisters in law enforcement and many lifelong friends. Anthony was predeceased by his grandparents, Catherine and Nicholas DeFrancesco and Louise Brennick, all of Cambridge, Massachusetts. Anthony proudly served as a Captain with the Somersworth, New Hampshire Police Department, dedicating his career to protecting and serving his community. A respected leader, dedicated officer, and compassionate public servant, Anthony approached his work with integrity, strength, and an unwavering sense of duty. His career in law enforcement reflected the qualities that defined him throughout his life—he was loyal, dependable, hardworking, generous, and always willing to help someone in need. Anthony had a natural ability to make those around him feel supported and protected. Whether with his family, friends, fellow officers, or members of his community, he was someone people knew they could count on. Above all, Anthony will be remembered for the love he had for his family, the loyalty he showed to his friends, and the countless lives he touched throughout his life and career. His strength, kindness, humor, and unwavering devotion to those he loved will never be forgotten. Though his life ended far too soon, the impact Anthony made will continue through his children, his family, his friends, his fellow officers, and the community he served so proudly. His legacy will live on in the people he loved, the lives he changed, and the memories that will be carried forward forever. A walk-thru for police officers and other public safety personnel will be held from 4:00 – 4:45 pm on Thursday, August 27, 2026 at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Public visiting hours will be from 5:00 – 8:00 pm in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Friday, August 28, 2026 at St. Ignatius of Loyola Roman Catholic Parish / St. Martin Church, 120 Maple Street, Somersworth, NH 03878. Burial will follow in the High Street Cemetery, Hampton. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Additional parking is being made available adjacent to the funeral home by the Best Western Hotel behind their Conference Center for the visitation.
