Arthur A. Geary

Greenland - Arthur A Geary, 89, of Greenland passed away on August 20, 2017 at Massachusetts General Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Art leaves his devoted wife of almost 34 years, Marilyn (Caruso) Geary; son Arthur Geary and his wife Marie of Stoneham, MA; daughters: Patti Kessel and her husband Leo of Indian Shores, FL and Karen Rehn and her husband Ralph of Roswell, GA; nine grandchildren: Jeff Munsie and his wife Holly of Bedford, MA, Karen Kessel of Tampa, FL, Megan Ludwig and her husband Ganter of Cabot, VT, Mark Kessel of Tampa, FL, Scott Munsie and his wife Sarah of Bethel, CT, Brian Rehn of Seattle, WA, Ryan Geary and his wife Alexia of Longmeadow, MA, Capt. Reid Geary and his wife Courtney of Clarksville, TN and Kellie Rehn and her fiancé Joey Merritt of Savannah, GA; seven great-grandchildren: Tyler Munsie, Mackenzie Munsie, Kaitlyn Munsie, Preston Munsie, Oliver Geary, Gracie Geary and Remi Ludwig; brother Jack Geary and his wife Barbara of Paso Robles, CA; mother-in-law Rose Marie Caruso of Middleton, MA; brothers-in-laws: Ralph Caruso and his wife Andrea, Robert Caruso and his wife Nanci and Stephen Caruso and his wife Natalie; sister-in-law Karen Caruso; nephews: Christopher Caruso, John Caruso and Enzo Caruso; nieces: Toni Bernardo and her husband Jeremy, Nikki Gazzola and her husband Frank, Kayla Caruso and Catrina Caruso; grand-niece Viviana Gazzola; his lifelong friend of almost 80 years, Gary Scarpa of Mt. Laurel, NJ and countless other family and friends, especially Don (Lee) Pearl of Greenland. He also leaves behind his cherished Labradoodles, Chip and Dale. He was preceded in death in 1972 by his wife of 22 years, Frances M. Geary. He was fiercely devoted to his family and loved creating family traditions and hosting large family gatherings. He and Marilyn loved nothing more than spending time with their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. They were looking forward to attending the wedding of their youngest grandchild, Kellie to Joey Merritt at the end of this month. Mr. Geary was an electrical engineer by education and spent many years as a Vice President of Buildings for the Prudential Insurance Company of America at their corporate headquarters in Newark, NJ. He was proud of his many projects, especially the building of the Prudential regional offices in Boston, Jacksonville, Houston and Woodland Hills, which are all local landmarks. Art had many interests and had an extensive workshop where he enjoyed fixing, building and puttering. He and Marilyn travelled the world together, having met at the Winter Olympics in Innsbruck, Austria in 1976. Over the years, they have visited every continent, with the exception of Antarctica. Visiting hours will be from 10 AM to 12 PM on August 29, 2017 in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 PM immediately following the visitation in the Immaculate Conception Church, 98 Summer Street, Portsmouth, NH 03801. Burial will follow at the Calvary Cemetery in Portsmouth. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
