Barbara A. Champagne

Seabrook – Barbara Ann Champagne, 57, of Seabrook, died on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at the Exeter Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Barbara was born in Hanover, January 8, 1957, the daughter of Ritchie Buchanan, Jr. of Greenland and the late Virginia (Dunn) Buchanan. She was raised in Hampton and was a graduate of Winnacunnet High School. Shortly after high school, she and her husband of over 37 years, Robert Champagne, were married and eventually settled in Seabrook to raise their family. Barbara had worked the night shift at Foss Manufacturing for over 25 years until falling ill. She had many friends and was a very caring and devoted wife and mother. Her family was always the most important part of her life and she loved spending time with them whenever possible. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her, especially her grandsons and granddaughter who she devoted her life to spending time with and sharing in their happiness, even in the weeks before her passing. Family members include her husband Robert of Seabrook, her father, Ritchie Buchanan and his wife Joan of Greenland; her children, Michelle Proulx and her husband Dan of Somersworth and Shawn Champagne of Seabrook; her brothers, Robert Buchanan of Hampton, Steven Buchanan and his wife Carla of Stratham, Bruce Buchanan and his wife Teresa of Latham, NY, James Buchanan and his wife Sue of North Hampton, and Scott Buchanan and his wife Lauri of Hampton; her grandchildren, Anthony Proulx, USMC, Jacob and Nicolas Proulx and Kayla Champagne; her step-sister and dear friend, Kathleen Lahey and her husband William of North Hampton and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her mother, Barbara was predeceased by her uncle, Vincent James Dunn and her step-brother, Chief Michael Maloney. Visiting hours will be from 5 to 7 PM on Thursday, January 16, 2014 in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home – Crematory, 811 Lafayette Rd., Hampton. Services will follow the visitation starting at 7 PM in the funeral home. Burial will be on Friday at 11 AM in the Center Cemetery, North Hampton. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
