Camille D. Shaw

Hampton - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Camille D. Shaw, age 89, on September 26, 2024. Camille passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, after a brave battle with dementia. Born to Francesco and Helena Celi of Belmont, MA, Camille was the youngest of three children. She was predeceased by her parents, her two older brothers, Robert Celi and his wife Claire, and Anthony (Sonny) Celi and his wife Mary, as well as her beloved husband, Edward John Shaw, who passed away in 1987. Camille is survived by her two devoted sons: Michael Shaw and his wife Thea, along with their daughters Michaela and Melina; and Glenn Shaw and his wife Erica, along with their children Celia, Aidan, and Owen. She is also remembered fondly by many nieces, nephews, and their families. Camille dedicated her early years to raising her children as a homemaker. In the mid-1980s, she began working for the U.S. Postal Service, where she remained until her retirement. A proud graduate of Belmont High School, Camille furthered her education by attending classes at Boston University, Mass College of Art and Design, and the Scott Carbee School of Art. While working Civilian Military at Hanscomb Air Force Base, Camille met her future husband, Edward, and together they built a loving home. After Edward’s passing, Camille continued to raise her two sons with grace and unwavering love. Camille had a natural artistic talent, which she expressed through painting and quilting. She also loved reading and cherished the time spent doing arts and crafts with her grandchildren. A wonderful cook, Camille found great joy in preparing meals and laughing with family around the table, creating lasting memories with those she loved. Her warmth, creativity, and devotion to her family will never be forgotten. Camille will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who knew her. Calling hours will be held from 5 – 7 PM on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, 289 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Burial will be private.
