Carolyn M. Dever

Exeter - Carolyn M Dever 77 years old of Exeter, New Hampshire died peacefully surrounded by family after a brief illness. She was born in Boston Mass on July 7, 1948 to John J. & Margaret Csiti. The oldest of the three children Carol was a devoted daughter and sister to her brothers Johnnie and Stevie. They had a large extended family all of whom lived in the neighborhoods of Boston in and around Charlestown, She enjoyed telling her children and grandchildren the many happy stories from her youth. She met the love of her life, John Joseph (Jack) Dever, in high school and the two were married in the spring of 1970. They were the proud parents of two boys, Brian J. Dever & Sean M. Dever. The family of 4 lived primarily in Charlestown and enjoyed 14 years together traveling for family vacations and enjoying many holidays together. These years and raising her boys were the best memories and greatest pride of Carol’s life. Shortly before the sudden death of her husband in the spring of 1985 Carol became licensed as an LPN and worked for many years in the Boston area making lifelong friends including Kathy Hannon of Melrose. She was known to be an extremely caring, upbeat, and a fierce advocate for her patients and took great pride in her work. As her boys grew into adult hood Carol found the time to enjoy many fun filled adventures with her friend Delores Street traveling to Las Vegas, Europe, and taking various Caribbean cruises. If there was music, sun, and a slot machine you could find these two ladies there in their big hats and bright colors having the most fun together. In June of 2005 she moved north to Exeter, NH to be closer to her 5 grandchildren. She spent a decade working as an LPN in NH, carrying the same reputation as she had in Boston, retiring in 2015. Carol’s greatest joy the last 10 years has been spending time with her boys, their wives, and chasing her grandchildren around to their sports, theater, and school events. Their “silly nana” was always offering encouragement and support and if you gave her more than 30 seconds you would get a picture or video shown. Carol is survived by her brother John J Csiti and his wife Linda of Cape Coral , Fla. Her son Brian J Dever and his wife Kara Cahill of Celina Tx. Son Sean M Dever and his wife Maribeth of Exeter, NH. Her grandchildren Noah Dever and his fiancé Stacie Hanson of Exeter, Molly Dever of Plaistow, Ry Dever of NYC, Ian Dever of Waterbury CT, & Jack Dever of Exeter, NH. Carol was previously deceased by her parents, her brother Steve Csiti, dear friend Delores Street, and the love of her life Jack. Carol’s fiesty personality, fierce loyalty to her friends and family, and sharp sense of humor will be missed tremendously but we all take solace in the fact that she and Jack are together again. Family will be having a private celebration of life.
