Constance Loraine Gallagher

York Harbor, ME – Constance Loraine “Connie” Gallagher, 92, of York Harbor passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, July 6, 2022. She was born in Portsmouth, NH on September 9, 1929, a daughter of the late Raymond H. and Alice (Remick) Byers. Connie shared over 30 years of beautiful marriage with her late husband, Robert L. Gallagher who died in 2008. Connie was a lifelong resident of Maine and graduated from Traip Academy 1947. She had worked at Valle’s Steakhouse in the late 1950’s, the Rockingham Hotel in the 1960’s and Warrens Lobster House in the 1970’s. She also worked at York Hospital and in home private care for the elderly into her late 70s. She enjoyed the beach, mountains, taking her boys camping and taking her girls to her grandmother’s bakery in Marblehead, MA. She and Bob enjoyed going to antique car shows as they were members of the 57 Chevy Club and Connie loved going to Brown’s Ice Cream and climbing the rocks at Nubble Light. She also enjoyed hosting the annual Christmas parties in Grammy Remick’ s house on Philbrick Rd in Kittery where absolutely everyone was always invited. She was a member of the Frank E. Booma Legion Post 6 Ladies Auxiliary of Portsmouth, NH Connie was a wife, a mother, a grandma too; this is the legacy we have from you. Her greatest accomplishments in life were her family as she talked about her children and grandchildren all the time. Not only did she raise 4 children of her own, but all of their friends were her kids as well. Connie was the Matriarch of the family, her love and caring was immeasurable. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Angelo Muscarello, III and his wife Victoria of York, Mark Muscarello and his wife Karen of Sanford and her daughter, Debbie Theriault and her husband Gerald of Clearwater, FL. Connie was Gram and Meme to her 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. In addition to her beloved Bob, Connie was predeceased by her daughter Sandra L. Hills who died in 1999. A visiting hour will be held from 12 to 1 PM on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at the Second Christian Congregational Church, 33 Government St., Kittery. Services will follow the visitation starting at 1 PM in the church. Burial will follow in the First Parish Cemetery, York. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the Alzheimer Association or to the York Community Service Association Food Pantry.
