Daniel (Danny) Hastie

Kennebunk, ME - Danny has sadly passed away on October 31, 2025 He lost his battle with his cancer. His wife by his side until the end and his sons close by. His strength determination and perseverance were unbelievable for all he endured through this journey. He faced this challenge with prayer humor and an unthinkable will; he was an amazing man. Danny was born in Dorchester Massachusetts on October 30, 1956 He is the son of the late Mary (Mother Mary) and Paul Hastie Danny is predeceased by his youngest son Benjamin. He is survived by his wife Jeannie who have shared 55 years together and have raised 5 sons Nicholas- Daniel- Adam- Christopher- and Benjamin. He also leaves behind 2 daughters in-laws Shawna and Amy also 3 grandchildren Caleb- Nicholas and the only granddaughter Samanth (June Bug) His grand dogs Philly-Juju- Bixee-Allie-Teddy Beard (his little buddy) Dexter Ascher and Kingston. Danny is also survived by his siblings Janie and husband Michael-Valerie and husband Angelo- Johnny and wife Janie- Kevin and wife Shelley- David and wife Kim. He also leaves many nieces and nephews behind Before retiring he was an Environmental Services Director he had such great knowledge in all aspects of this field. Danny had incredible work ethics and strong values he instilled in his sons; he was always close by if they needed his help. they would affectionately call him Paw-Pops-Poppa Joe-the old man and Dad. He enjoyed making custom furniture and very proud to do so. A true food enthusiast he would travel 40 miles in search of seafood or pizza restaurants. Loved picnics at the ocean year-round and short walks on the beach that inevitably led to the next food adventure. His pastimes were talk radio- working with his tools- he was an avid reader of History and Politics recently enjoyed watching the old westerns. He was always a new England sports fan. He was full of humor and wit and happy to make you smile. He always waved and said hi no matter how many times he saw you that day, and willing to help if needed. Danny always left a lasting impression to everyone he met, a very kind, genuine unforgettable man that everyone loved. He has been our foundation; he is loved and missed terribly.
