Daphne Savramis

North Hampton – Daphne (Lilakos) Savramis, was a longtime resident of Portsmouth, and most recently North Hampton. She passed away peacefully at the age of 83. Born to John Lilakos and Bertha (Perdis) Lilakos in Newark, NJ, she was the youngest of two siblings. Her parents were immigrants from Greece and eventually settled in West Roxbury, MA. Daphne graduated from Roslindale High School as a member of the National Honor Society. Upon graduation she won a local beauty pageant (Miss West Roxbury) and was offered a career opportunity in modeling from a Boston-based talent agency but rather chose to pursue a profession in Business by working early in her career for Metropolitan Life and Wheelabrator-Frye, and then had a long time career working for the City of Portsmouth. Daphne eventually retired after serving as the Portsmouth City Clerk for many years. Upon her retirement she spent much of her time with grandchildren and traveling with her husband. Daphne was a loving, dedicated wife, mother and proud grandmother who was always a big fan attending their numerous school and recreational events. She also enjoyed spending time visiting and keeping in touch with her extended family. She frequently talked about how proud and grateful she was of the very close relationship she and her many cousins maintained with each other throughout their entire lives, across many miles. Daphne enjoyed family holidays and get togethers, traveling, reading, shopping, dining out, cooking Greek cuisine and baking Greek pastries, and being a member of the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church and attending Greek Dances with her husband George for many years. She is lovingly survived by her daughter Elizabeth and her husband Matthew Nastasia of Hampton, son Dean Savramis and his wife Nikki of Portsmouth, four grandchildren Matthew, Michael and Erica Nastasia, and Reno Savramis, two sister-in-laws Esther Lilakos of Sacramento, CA, and Phyllis Pantelas and her husband Peter of Saco, ME and several cousins, nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband of 60 years George C. Savramis, her brother George Lilakos of Sacramento, CA, sister-in-law Katina Athans and her husband Alexander Athans of Portsmouth. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. There will be no calling hours. Funeral Services will be held at 10 A.M. Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 40 Andrew Jarvis Drive, Portsmouth. Burial will follow at the Harmony Grove Cemetery, Portsmouth. Family and friends invited.
