Dawn Foss Emerick

Hampton - Dawn Foss Emerick, a beacon of love, grace, and strength, graced this world with her unwavering dedication to her family, community, and faith. She was born on September 15, 1947, in Battle Creek, Michigan, to her proud parents, Lt. Colonel Donald Livingston Foss and Myrtle Gertrude Holmgren. She was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes as an adolescent, which fueled her dedication to the medical field and showcased her nurturing and caring nature, embodying her desire to help and comfort those in need. Dawn graduated from Littleton High School in Littleton, MA, and Fisher College in Boston, MA, where she pursued her passion for healthcare by training as a Medical Assistant. On August 25, 1968, Dawn exchanged vows and began a journey of love and togetherness with James Tracy Emerick. Their love carried them through various adventures, including living in different parts of the United States and Germany, where they resided for three years, experiencing the world together. Their adventures continued as they lived in Littleton, MA, East Brunswick, and Hillsdale, NJ, before settling in Hampton, NH, in 1979. Dawn, alongside her loving husband, co-owned and operated Taurus Direct Marketing for 24 years. Dawn was instrumental in the company's success as the director of client services and production, always striving for excellence and building lasting relationships with clients. Dawn's faith and compassion extended beyond her family into her community. She was an active member of the First Congregational Church of Hampton, NH, where she served as Senior Deacon and President of the Women's Guild. Dawn was instrumental in the church's outreach efforts, particularly the holiday food basket program, "God's Baby Closet," and the annual Jingle Bell Fair, dedicating her time and effort to bring these programs to the seacoast community and demonstrating her immense compassion and desire to help those in need. Her caring nature and organizational skills made these efforts into cherished traditions, bringing happiness to many. Dawn dedicated over 15 years as the Board Chairperson for Seacoast Youth Services. Her unwavering commitment to youth and her community reflected her belief in shaping a better future for the younger generation. Her guidance, mentorship, and care were pivotal in helping countless young lives thrive. Dawn's love knew no bounds, and her generous spirit touched the lives of many. She will be remembered for her kindness, her laughter, and the love she spread wherever she went. Her legacy lives on through her children and their spouses, Donald Clayton Emerick and Tracey Emerick Boies and Heather Ahlburn Emerick and David William Boies, her grandchildren, and the countless lives she touched with her love and compassion. Among her most cherished roles was that of a beloved grandmother, affectionately known as "Mimi." David William Boies Jr., Taylor Ellen Boies, Winifred Claire Emerick, Charlotte Hope Emerick, and Phoebe Bliss Emerick—these grandchildren were her pride and joy. "Mimi" celebrated their accomplishments, offered guidance, and showered them with love and affection, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts. Dawn is survived by her brother, Paul Foss of Templeton, MA, who held a special place in her heart. A memorial service to honor and celebrate the life of Dawn Foss Emerick will be held on December 16 at 10 a.m. at the First Congregational Church of Hampton. Friends and family are invited to join us in commemorating the beautiful soul that she was and bidding her a fond farewell. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in her memory to "God's Baby Closet" at the First Congregational Church of Hampton or the American Diabetes Association, causes close to Dawn's heart. May Dawn's soul find eternal peace, and may her memory bless all fortunate to know her. She will forever remain alive in our hearts and memories. Rest in peace, dear Dawn Foss Emerick. You will be deeply missed, but your love and legacy will endure in our lives forever.
