Edie M. Pole

Hampton – Edie M. Pole, 80, of Hampton, and a former longtime resident of Sanford, ME, passed away peacefully at the Exeter Hospital on Friday, June 30, 2023. Edie was the wife of Gary J. Pole, Sr. and they shared over 31 years of beautiful marriage together. Edie was born in New Haven, CT on April 28, 1943, a daughter of the late Ernest and Dorothy (Kundra) Moss. The Moss family moved to Sanford, ME when Edie was 5 years old. She was married shortly after high school and settled in Sanford to raise her own family. She married Gary James Pole, Sr. in Las Vegas in 1992 and she and Gary moved to Hampton Beach a few years later. Edie was a simple and kind lady and was more comfortable in blue jeans than any other type of clothing. She loved to travel, especially to Reddington Beach, FL where she and Gary wintered several times. They also visited many lighthouses throughout the country that she took as inspiration for her toll paintings. Edie was a very talented artist and sold her items at the Hampton Beach Seafood Festival as well as other craft fairs throughout the area. In addition to her beloved husband Gary, Edie leaves her daughter, Karen Jack and her husband, Tony and her son, Peter Tranchemontagne and his wife, Tina all of Sanford. She also leaves her stepchildren, Gary Pole, Jr., and his wife, Autumn of Newmarket, Antoinette Pole and her husband, Scott Simock, of Providence, RI and Lawrence Pole and his wife, Traci of Centennial, CO, her grandchildren: Kaelin, Jack and Blaine Jack and Steffon Tranchemontagne , all of Sanford, Julia Pole of Newmarket and Luca Pole of Centennial, CO. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Linda Tranchemontagne and her brother, Ernest Moss. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 AM on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home - Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. A prayer service will immediately follow at 11 AM in the funeral home and burial will be in the High Street Cemetery, Hampton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
