George "Russell" Dow IV

Salisbury, MA - George “Russell” Dow IV, age 60, a lifelong resident of Salisbury, MA, passed away suddenly on Sunday November 12th at Portsmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Amesbury, MA, on May 17, 1963, to George “Russell” Dow III and Gail Frances Blanchette. Russell was a loving partner to Brenda “Penny” Thistlewood. He graduated from Whitter Technical High School in 1981 where he studied plumbing. He later joined the family seafood business that he eventually took over as the fourth-generation owner/operator. Russell was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and farming. He was an accomplished fisherman and captain of the Mad Dog and the Peggy’s Pride. He spent many summers on his boats where Russell met his lifelong partner, Penny. Together they built a mixed family with many children and grandchildren, and together, raised their grandson Braiden Eastman who resided with them and shared a special bond. Russell was predeceased by his mother Gail Dow, grandfather Merrill Dow, grandfather Donald Blanchette, grandmother Velma Blanchette, and grandmother Lily Dow. He is Survived by his father George Russell Dow III, his stepmother Nancy Dow, his brother Frank Dow, his aunt Kathryn Dow, his son Nathan Bishop, daughter-in-law Elena Bishop, grandson Arthur Bishop, his son Donald Dow, son-in-law Jacob Dow, step-children George, Nathan, and Derra Souther and Tyler Thistlewood, grandchildren Braiden Eastman, and Bentley Souther, Charlotte Thistlewood among many others, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a large circle of lifelong friends. Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Russell for a period of visitation on Saturday, November 18, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. in the Remick and Gendron Funeral Home, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. A celebration of life will take place immediately following the visitation.
