Judith Phyllis Mills

Judith “Judi” Phyllis (Chamberlin) Mills, age 78, of Hampton, NH, went home to be with our Lord on Monday, July 6, 2026. Judi was born in Lowell, MA, on May 11, 1948. She graduated from Lowell High School in 1966, and then attended the Henry Heywood Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Gardner, MA. She met the absolute love of her life, Jackie Mills, in 1968 after the two had been pen pals for 14 months while he served overseas in the U.S. Army. They were married on October 18, 1969, and eventually settled in Woburn, MA, where they made their home for 30 years. Judi devoted most of her career to serving others as a Registered Nurse, caring for patients at Lowell General Hospital, Woburn Choate, and several nursing homes throughout the area. Judi was classy, elegant, and oh so very polite. She brightened every room she entered. Always impeccably dressed with a swanky belt and coordinating pocketbook, Judi had a fondness for Macy’s, Marshalls, small boutiques, and gift shops, especially those in Atlantic City and Epcot. Judi was happy wherever she was, especially when she and Jackie were together. Even after 57 years of marriage, they still looked at each other like two teenagers in love. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Judi was preceded in death by her parents, Quincy H. and Phyllis R. (Taylor) Chamberlin; her brother, Richard Q. Chamberlin, Sr.; and her father-in-law, William “Bud” J. Mills, Jr. She is survived by her eternally devoted husband, John “Jackie” M. Mills; her mother-in-law, Mary Mills; her brothers- and sisters-in-law, William Mills III and Susan Stevens, Patricia and Robert Hauser, Robert and Carole Mills, Jeanne and Gene Grindlinger, and Lauren and Arthur Higgins; her dear friends, Richard and Linda Shannon; and several beloved nieces and nephews. The family is especially grateful to Judi’s nephew, Bryan Mills, and her friend, Kathryn Williamson, for their kindness, love, and assistance over the years. In keeping with Judi's wishes, services will be private and she will be laid to rest at Woodbrook cemetery in Woburn.
