Hampton – Julia “Julie” O’Regan, a beloved sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Monday, June 16, 2025. Formerly of Kittery, ME, and Somerville, Malden, and Medford, MA, Julie brought light and laughter to all who knew her. Julie had an extraordinary gift with children—she was naturally drawn to babies and had an innate ability to comfort and connect with them. Born into a large, loving Irish American family, Julie was one of 13 siblings. She helped raise many of her nieces and nephews, always with patience, humor, and love. Julie believed in the value of hard work. She worked for many years as a clerk at both Lechmere Sales and Domino Sugar, a data entry operator for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Revenue, and earlier in life at the A&P Grocery Store in Somerville, MA. She was known for her steadfast work ethic and warm rapport with co-workers. Julie was an impeccable homemaker and kept her space spotless—she was an avid dishwasher and vacuum cleaner operator, proudly known for “never a dirty spot” in her home. A woman of deep Catholic faith, Julie was devoted to prayer. She said the Rosary daily and was a member of prayer groups at St. Theresa’s Church. Her spirituality was a cornerstone of her life, and she lived her values with quiet grace. Julie loved to travel, including to Scandinavia, Italy, and Ireland. She was a proud Red Sox and Celtics fan, rarely missing a game. She also found joy in the little things, an avid walker who logged five miles a day for more than 20 years, and a savvy shopper known for sniffing out the best deals at Filene’s Basement. Julie was also a wonderful dancer—she taught her siblings to Jitterbug and never missed a chance to hit the dance floor. Her sense of humor was legendary, and she often signed off with a mischievous smile and her favorite phrase: “Be good… and if you can’t be good, be good at it.” Above all, Julie was generous, joyful, and endlessly devoted to her family. Her warmth, wit, and wisdom leave a lasting legacy. She is survived by her dear siblings: Catherine Cahill of Olathe, KS; Michael O’Regan of Burlington, MA; Dennis O’Regan of Raymond, NH; James O’Regan of Somerville, MA; and Robert O’Regan of Danvers, MA. She was predeceased by her siblings Cornelius O’Regan, Norah Woods, John O’Regan, Jeremiah O’Regan, Thomas O’Regan, Charles O’Regan, and Hannah O’Regan. Julie was the cherished aunt of 32 nieces and nephews, all of whom adored their “Auntie Julie.” Visitation will be held from 5 PM to 7 PM on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 25 at 11 AM at St. Theresa Parish, 815 Central Road, Rye. Burial will be in the Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge, MA at a later date.
