Kathleen A. Larkin

Hampton - Surrounded by family, Kathleen Ann Larkin, 76, a resident of Hampton for over 40 years, passed peacefully in her home on April 30, 2015. Kathleen was born November 12, 1938 to the late James and Elizabeth (Baker) Casey, in Bridgeport Connecticut and was the sister to James Casey, Jr., Thomas Casey, Elizabeth Daley, and Fran Smith. Kathleen grew up in Bridgeport and graduated Central High School in 1956. After high school she worked at The Bridgeport Brass Company for nine years. On June 13, 1964 she married her lifetime companion of fifty years, Richard Larkin. After moving to New Hampshire in 1972, she pursued a career in nursing where her passion in caring for others lead to a thirty-six year career as a nurse. She spent the first thirteen years of her nursing career at Exeter Hospital and then transitioned to the Seacoast Visiting Nurse Association, where she created a diabetic education group and continued to reach out and touch the lives of the people in the community. An avid reader and detective at heart, Kathleen could often be found sitting at her kitchen table with a cup of tea and a detective novel in front of her. She had a love for ice cream, her cats, enjoyed gardening, watching the birds on her feeders and spending time laughing with her family and friends. As a kindhearted and generous person who never met a stranger, she had a practice of inviting anyone in need to her home for dinner, especially during the holidays. Her warm smile and loving nature impacted the lives of everyone she met. She was a beautiful, gentle soul and will be greatly missed. Kathleen is survived by her loving husband Richard and her two daughters and their families: Kara and Rene Rivero, Korina and Ben Martin, Kimberly, Thomas, Kasey and Kaitlyn Kelliher. Visiting hours will be from 3-5 P.M. Saturday, May 9, 2015 at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton, followed by a Celebration of Life reception at the home of Richard and Kathleen, 11 Sicard Street, Hampton.
