Leonard P. "Len" Hicks

Hampton – Leonard P. “Len” Hicks, 66, of Hampton and formally of Salem, passed away peacefully at his home after a courageous battle with Lung Cancer on Monday, November 28, 2022. Len was born in Salem on April 5, 1956, a son of the late David and Lenice (Peever) Hicks. Len was raised in Salem and was a 1974 graduate of Salem High. An outstanding athlete, Len excelled in baseball and hockey at Salem High. Upon graduation he attended UNH and went on to earn his Associate’s Degree in Business. Len went immediately into the staffing business and owned his own business for a time before taking a position with National Employment of Portsmouth. He was with National for over 30 years, serving most recently as their General Manager, before leaving due to his illness. He was an avid golfer, a past member at Breakfast Hill Golf Course and an active member of the Abenaqui Country Club in Rye. He also enjoyed all of the Boston sports teams, watching them whenever he got a chance. A family man in every respect, time with those he loved was most important. He was a very active dad and coached his kids in many of their youth sports programs. He was a loving, supportive and devoted husband and father and a great provider for his family. Len was kind, caring and generous and always there for others in their time of need. He had a fantastic sense of humor and a smile that lit up the room. He had many friends that shared their love and respect for Len. Surviving family members include his wife of over 25 years, Robin L. (Nichols) Hicks, his son, Michael and his wife Jaime of Newmarket and his daughter, Jessica Hicks of Hampton. He also leaves his brothers, David and wife, Jo-Ann of Salem, John and wife, Becky of Levittown, PA and his sisters, Robin Kalil and husband, Ronald of Salem and Ruthie Freeston and husband, Wayne of Cooper City, FL as well as many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. Len was also a soon to be grandfather with Mike and Jaime expecting in February. Visiting hours will be from 2 to 3 PM on Monday, December 5, 2022 in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Services will immediately follow at 3 PM in the funeral home.
