Marjorie P. Cass

Hampton Falls – Marjorie Perry Cass, 77, of Hampton Falls, passed away on March 3, 2015 at the Exeter Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Thomas R. Cass, to whom she had been married for 52 years. Born October 7, 1937 in Malden, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Francis and Anne (Hurley) Perry. Marjorie was a raised in Medford, Mass., and was a graduate of Notre Dame Academy in Roxbury, Mass., in 1955. She earned her degree in biology from Emmanuel College in Boston and taught biology at Bridgewater-Raynham and Lynnfield High Schools. She met her future husband, Tom, at a college mixer and they were married in 1962. Marjorie and Tom started their lives together in Middleton, Mass., then moved to Upper Saddle River, NJ, and Newburyport, Mass., before settling in Hampton Falls in 1976. Thomas purchased Aqua Laboratories of Amesbury, Mass., in 1970, where Marjorie served as vice president and as office manager until her retirement. A kind-hearted and compassionate person, Marjorie loved being with family and friends, working in her garden, and traveling with her husband. For many years, she was an active member of the Brazer Guild, now known as the Historical Society of Early American Decoration. She also sang in the choir at the Holy Family Parish (St. Joseph’s) in Amesbury, Mass., and served on the parish council at St. Michael’s Church in Exeter. In addition to her husband, Marjorie is survived by her son, Thomas E. Cass and his wife Bethany of Topsfield, Mass., her daughter, Meredith Callanan and her husband Joseph of Arnold, MD and her grandchildren, Madison, Ryan and Leah Cass and Benjamin and Cormac Callanan. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother John Perry. Visiting hours will be held from 6-8 P.M. Thursday, March 5, 2015 in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 P.M. Friday, March 6, 2015 in St. Michael Church, 9 Lincoln Street, Exeter. Spring burial will be Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hampton Falls. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
