Michael J. Banfield

Hooksett - Michael J. Banfield, 34, of Hooksett, passed away suddenly on June 19, 2026 at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. His sudden loss has left an immeasurable void in the heart of his family and friends. He was born in Columbus, OH on March 12, 1992. A son of James W. and Ann Marie (Muschelewicz) Banfield of No. Hampton, NH. Raised in Columbus, OH and later Lexington, KY before settling in Bedford, NH where he graduated from Trinity High School with the Class of 2010. Michael worked for UPS as a driver for a number of years where he was recognized for an exceptional safety record. His career held special meaning for our family, as he followed in the footsteps of his father, who also dedicated his career to UPS before retiring. Their shared connection to the company provided a lasting bond between father and son. An avid Boston sports fan but most importantly, a devoted Ohio State buckeyes fan. He enjoyed watching Ohio State football games with his dad. He loved playing fantasy football, gaming or going to Star Wars or Marvel movies with his best friends. Among his greatest joys were his cherished cats, Thanos and Kang. They were beloved companions who brought him happiness, comfort, and unconditional love. Anyone who knew Michael understood how much he adored them. Michael will be remembered for his honesty, loyalty, and dedication to those he loved. He was straightforward who spoke from the heart, but his kindness and compassion were evident in everything that he did. He was dependable and always willing to lend a hand with genuine concern for those around him. He has left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate to know him. In addition to his parents, surviving family members include his siblings, Allison Glass and her husband, Christopher of No, Hampton and Nicholas Banfield and his fiancée Jenna Briere of Hampton; nephew James Glass of No. Hampton and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends. May he Rest In Peace, and may his memory be a blessing to all who loved him. Visitation will be held from 4-7pm on Tuesday June 30, 2026, at the Remick & Gendron funeral Home- Crematory, Hampton. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11am on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at St. Theresa Parish, 820 Central Road, Rye Beach, NH. Burial will follow in Center Cemetery, No. Hampton. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
