Patricia E. Bancewicz

Hampton – Patricia E. Bancewicz, 99, of Hampton, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2025. She was born in Arlington, MA on July 12, 1926 the daughter of the late Percival Gould and Mary (Cummings) Gould. Raised in Medford she moved to New York where she graduated high school and worked various jobs for a number of years before returning to Massachusetts and meeting her future husband, the late Charles Joseph Bancewicz, and spent much of her life raising her family. Pat had a great love of the ocean which led to her to planting her roots in Hampton where she was a member of the Hampton Volunteer Ambulance Corp, Hampton Budget Committee, as well as many other community, political and social organizations. Her love of the ocean was expanded to boating and fishing when she worked for the Gauron Family. It was this love that she passed to so many of her children who are in turn passing it to their children. She loved politics and was proud to have worked in Senator McIntyre’s office and volunteering for Senator Preston’s campaigns. There was something special about her employment at the Welcome Center on Route 95 in Seabrook where she worked well into her 80’s. It was here that led her to becoming a Granite State Ambassador due to her love of meeting people and promoting our great seacoast and state. Surviving family members include her children, Stephen Bancewicz (wife Robin) of Hampton, NH, Melanie Bancewicz of Grayland, WA, Eileen Priest (husband Kevin) of Punta Gorda, Florida, Lisa Barbin of Salisbury, MA, Michael Bancewicz of Salisbury, MA and Patty-linn Cogswell (husband Sean) of Sanford, ME; grandchildren, Lisa-Marie, Bryan (Amanda), Michelle, James, Cody(Jordan), Connor, and Caven; eleven great grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sons, Charles “Chaz” Bancewicz and Mark Bancewicz, her grandson Jared Blanchard, and her granddaughter Kelly Doggett Blanchard. Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Pat with visiting hours starting at 10 AM and a prayer service at 11:30 AM on Thursday, September 4, 2025 in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Burial will be private.
