Priscilla A. Walker

Dover – Priscilla A. Walker, 100, of Dover and formerly of Hampton, passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2023. She was born in the old Exeter Cottage Hospital on August 29, 1922, the only child to the late Willard and Myrtha (Carlisle) Emery who owned and operated Emery the Florist in Hampton for over 50 years. She was a lifelong Hampton resident and a graduate from Hampton Academy with the Class of 1941. She was married to James Garnett, Jr. on January 28, 1944 until he lost his life in WW II on May 5, 1944. She shared 43 years of marriage with her second husband, the late Lewis W. Brown, who predeceased her in 1997. In 2000 she married her lifetime school friend Allen H. Walker who predeceased her in 2006. Priscilla worked for ten years as a bookkeeper and buyer for the many companies operated by E.G. Cole Company in Hampton Center. She was also employed by Rockingham National Bank in Exeter and the Hampton National Bank as head bookkeeper until her retirement. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Hampton, Hampton’s American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Winnicummett Rebekah Lodge #26 I.O.O.F., Trinity Chapter # 22 Order of Eastern Star, Meeting House Green Historical Society and Friendship Sam’s International in the United States and Canada. She had many hobbies, including reading, painting, knitting and crocheting and made lap robes and prayer shawls for veterans and nursing homes. Family members include Wanda and Charles Brower, Palm Harbor, FL, Sue Moulton, Kimberly Moulton, Walter Moulton Jr. and Peter and Dale Moulton, all of Hampton, Sheree Brown, Exeter, Robert and Teri Brown, New York, stepdaughter Diana Kent, Somersworth, two step granddaughters Amy Cann, Gonic and Melody Kent, Somersworth, two step great granddaughters Alexandria Cann and Cassidy Kent. A visiting hour will be held from 2 to 3 PM on Friday, April 14, 2023 in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Services will immediately follow in the funeral home with burial in the High Street Cemetery Hampton.
