Raymond A. Fay

Hampton – Raymond A. Fay, 80, of Hampton, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, September 18, 2024. Born in Lawrence, MA, on March 19, 1944, he was the son of the late John and Antoinette (Beaumier) Fay. Ray was raised in both Lawrence and Methuen, MA, and attended Methuen High School. After graduation, he served in the Army Reserves and later worked for Raytheon before embarking on a 20 plus year career as a firefighter with the Lawrence Fire Department. He met the love of his life, Theresa (Grieco), at a dance at Central Catholic High School, and they were married in June 1966. Ray adored Theresa and was devoted as a loving and caring husband. Together, the couple owned Trousseau Unlimited, a bridal salon in Seabrook, NH, where Ray ran the tuxedo business, which later transformed into Best Friends Day Care. Ray was an active member of the St. John’s Lodge in Newburyport, MA, and participated in a rescue scuba diving club in Lowell, MA. He enjoyed family gatherings and was most proud of his role as "Papa" to his grandchildren. Ray will be remembered for his fun-loving spirit, his knack for storytelling, and his warmth toward everyone he met. He had a big heart and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need, showing his deep compassion and care for others. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Theresa, and their children, John Fay and his fiancée Jennifer King of North Hampton, and Michelle Kupka and her husband Robert of Hampton. Ray also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Alexa, Samantha, Julia, Hunter, Joshua and Ariana. He is also survived by his siblings Frank Fay and Judith Fay-Donahue, sisters-in-law Linde Fay and Sandra Grieco, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. In addition to his parents, Ray was predeceased by his brothers Gerald and Thomas Fay, and his sister Jacqueline Dube. Visiting hours will be held from 4 PM to 7 PM on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, 289 Lafayette Road, Hampton.
