Richard L. Fowler

Seabrook - Richard Leslie Fowler, of Seabrook, passed away at home on Thursday, July 4, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was 78 years old. Born in Newburyport on August 18, 1945, Richard was the son of the late Robert W. Fowler and Phila (Knowles) Sturgis. Richard grew up in Seabrook and then went on to enlist in the United States Army. Upon returning from the Army, Richard spent over 20 years as a Sergeant with the Seabrook Police Department. Richard was known around town as the Birdman, He loved to whistle bird calls and you always knew when he was in a store or local post office because you would hear him whistling throughout the whole store and the people nicknamed him the Birdman. He said it made people smile as he made people do every day, he loved to be funny and make people laugh. His Favorite saying was “It’s Howdy Doody Time”. He loved to watch Sports especially the red sox, Patriots, the Bruins and golf. He loved to play Words with Friends with people and play Bingo on his computer. He loved to spend time with his daughter Myra & Friend Rita & Loan taking rides in the Car singing Gospel music and old Country songs he loved to dance and sing his favorite was Hank Williams. He loved spending time with his “Baby” April as he would always introduce her to people as MY BABY. And his most favorite was spending time with his Pride and Joy his Grandson Dylan Janvrin he loved him so very much. Family meant everything to him. Richard is survived by his daughters, April Fowler, of Seabrook, and Myra Fowler of Seabrook. He is also survived by his brothers Milan “Butch” Knowles of Seabrook, and Gary Fowler and his wife June, of Seabrook. He also leaves his grandson, Dylan Janvrin of Seabrook and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Richard is predeceased by his twin, Robert Fowler his Step father Raymond Sturgis and the love of his life Linda Janvrin Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Richard for a period of visitation on Monday, July 15, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Remick and Gendron Funeral Home, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton, NH 03842. A funeral service will be held the following day, Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the Rand Memorial Church, 134 South Main Street, Seabrook, NH 03874. Burial with U.S. Army Military Honors will take place immediately following the service at Wildwood Cemetery, on church grounds. Reception will follow at the Rand Memorial Church.
