Roberta R. Milliken

Hampton Falls – Roberta R. Milliken, 79, of Hampton Falls, died peacefully on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 with loving family by her side. Roberta was born in Dexter, ME, a daughter of the late Roscoe and Myrtle Richards. She was raised in Westbrook, ME and graduated from Westbrook High School in 1951. She attended Gorham Normal School, then served in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1955. She shared 55 loving years of marriage with her late husband, Russell E. Milliken, who predeceased her in 2010. Roberta made her home in Hampton and Hampton Falls for 50 years. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed traveling, entertaining, her sewing group, chocolate, and shopping. She loved spending time with her family and countless friends. Her grandchildren will cherish fond memories of trips to the beach, recitals, ball games, movies, and board games with their Nanny. She was a very active member of the Hampton United Methodist Church and had served in the church women’s group. She was a member of the Rainbow Girls and Eastern Star, served as a Brownie Troop Leader for her daughters, taught Sunday School, and volunteered regularly at the Hampton Soup Kitchen. Additionally, she had served her community in several capacities within the Hampton School District. Roberta had a special way of making people smile and always found joy in helping others. She will sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Stone and her husband David of Apopka, FL, Debra Slater and her husband Andy of Austin, TX and Diane Prus and her husband Michael of Charleston, SC; her grandchildren, Christopher Stone and his wife Tricia of Winter Park, FL, Elizabeth Stone, Catherine Radcliffe and her husband Jayce of Houston, TX, and Lindsey and Brooks Prus and her brother Robert Richards of Portland, ME. In addition to her husband and parents, Roberta was predeceased by her sister, Patricia Carter. A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Friday, July 26 at the Hampton United Methodist Church, 525 Lafayette Road, Hampton, NH 03842. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hampton United Methodist Church.
