Roland "Ron" Dupuis Jr

North Hampton, NH – Roland L. “Ron” Dupuis Jr, 69, of North Hampton, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Portsmouth Regional Hospital. Ron was born June 15, 1945 in Lynn, MA the son of the late Roland L. Dupuis, Sr. and Patricia “Pat” (Lovett) Dupuis. He loved spending time with his wife Dorene and daughter Casey, taking on every adventure that came his way. Raised in Lynn, he graduated from St. Mary’s High School with the class of 1963. Following graduation he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and proudly served during the Vietnam War. After his enlistment Ron returned home and became a Massachusetts State Trooper for a number of years before transferring to the Boston Police Department, where he served as a police officer. He was forced into early retirement after being shot in the line of duty in 1976. Mr. Dupuis was the definition of an entrepreneur, opening up various businesses from Casey’s Hot Dog Empori-Yum in North Hampton to the Old Pompano Pub in Pompano Beach, FL. He was a New Hampshire State Representative for Derry and a member of the Pease Greeters. The most important thing in Ron’s life was his daughter. He cherished the time they had together during his role as a stay at home dad. He was a kind man with an incredible sense of humor who loved adventures and truly lived life to the fullest. Ron never turned away from a political discussion and made new friends everywhere he went. He enjoyed spending time with his family, listening to Motown music, cooking, playing with his dogs Striker and Gwen, and supporting all New England sports teams. Family members include the love of his life Dorene (Tagan) Dupuis of North Hampton who he shared 31 years of marriage with; his daughter Casey Dupuis, who was his pride and joy; his sisters, Jane Teal and her husband Paul of Naples, FL and Cynthia Kennison and her husband Doug of Peabody, MA; as well as his aunt Jane Gould, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visiting hours will be held from 5-8 PM, Wednesday, May 20, 2015 in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton, NH. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, May 21, 2015 in the funeral home. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Burial will be private.
