Ronald Pierce

New Durham- Ronald “Ron” Pierce, 92 of New Durham, formerly of Hampton, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, May 22, 2025, surrounded by his family. Ron was born and raised in Amesbury, MA where he attended Amesbury schools. After high school he enlisted into the United States Army where he served in the Korean War. Prior to deployment Ron married Paula in a small family ceremony in Hampton. After returning from his tour of duty, Ron and Paula settled in Hampton on Fairfield drive where they raised their family together. After being a truck driver for many years, Ron and Paula spent their retirement in Florida making memories with new friends and enjoying the sunshine. In 2020 they returned to New Hampshire to be closer to their family and friends. Ron enjoyed biking long distances whether he was in Florida or spending summers in New Hampshire. When Ron wasn’t biking or walking, you could find him at the local coffee place, talking shop with friends as he had never met a stranger. Ron was known for his quick wit and larger than life laugh. He maintained his sense of humor throughout his life, even in his last days. He will be greatly missed. Ron is survived by his loving wife, Paula (Dunbrack) Pierce with whom he was married to for just shy of 72 years; his son, Steven Pierce and partner Kathy Wiegand of New Durham and a daughter Lynn Ellis of Farmington; his grandchildren, James Ellis and partner Stephanie Allen of Milton FL, Amanda Howard and partner Chris Wareing of New Durham, and Henry Locke and wife Samantha Locke of Farmington; 7 great grandchildren Conrad, Lillian, Elizabeth, Jacoby, Olivia, Wesley, Emma; sister in laws Lois, Nina and Betsy; as well as many nieces and nephews. Ron is predeceased by his son David; parents Eugene and Elida Pierce; and siblings Elouise, Charlotte, and Eugene (Sonny). Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Ron for a period of visitation on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton, NH 03842. A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
