Rosemary Simpson Buia

Hampton- Rosemary Simpson Buia, 78, of Hampton, peacefully went to see the Lord surrounded by her family at home on August 13, 2024. She was born at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine on April 27, 1946, daughter of the late Issac Hamilton Simpson and Mary (McMaster) Simpson. Rosemary was a member of the first graduating class of St. Thomas Aquinas High School in 1964. She was a proud Master of Education prepared graduate of the University of New Hampshire (1970) and Cambridge College. Rosemary was a cherished 4th grade teacher and mentor to over 30 years of students and fellow teachers, mostly of Marston School in Hampton. She was a dedicated member of the Catholic Church, and a member of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Parish that lived her faith in an accepting way and served the Sisters of Mercy of Windham, NH. She was famous for her homemade brownies, fudge, chocolate chip cookies, cheesecake and pies. Rosemary loved playing hands of whist with family and friends who knew to never “trump her ace”. She thrived on a dance floor and knew how to celebrate Christmas like no other. Rosemary had an angelic voice and was known for singing Christmas Carols, hymns, patriotic songs with her students and original lullabies to her children and grandchildren. She was never without her bright pink lipstick and baby blue eye shadow. Rosemary was simply the kindest person who lit up every room with her smile, contagious joy, laugh and sparkling blue eyes. She was a kind and generous soul that is a friend and mother to many. She was loved by many for the love she gave and ushered many through difficult times. She was simply the best and most beautiful being inside and out and will be missed by so many. Rosemary is survived by her husband of 54 years, Stephen Allen Buia of Hampton, revered mother to her children, Christopher Allen Buia and his wife Tracy Anne (Tate) of York, PA, Stephanie Buia Amport and her husband John Christian Amport of Madison, CT, loved Nana to Cameron William and Ainsley Grace Buia of York, PA, and John Charles “Charlie” and Josephine Rose Amport of Madison, CT. Beloved sister of David Hamilton Simpson of York, ME, Donald Michael Simpson and his wife Patricia (Brown) of Auburn, NH, and Thomas Henry Simpson and his wife Pamela (Guilmet) Simpson of Dover, NH. Adored aunt of Brooke (Simpson) Mulcahy, Jaclynn (Simpson) Rodriguez, Patrick Simpson, Bryanna Simpson, and Matthew Simpson. In addition to her parents, Rosemary was predeceased by her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Donald A. McMaster formerly of Portsmouth, NH, her aunts Rita (McMaster) Harte, Catherine (McMaster) Colen, and Theresa McMaster and her brother-in-law Thomas G. Green. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2024, from 2 PM to 5 PM at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory,811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated the following day, Monday, at 11 AM on September 16, 2024, at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Parish, 289 Lafayette Road, Hampton.
