Sheryl Lynn Hanson

Hampton, NH - Sheryl L. (Peek) Hanson passed away peacefully at home on December 27, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on October 05, 1957, in Exeter, Sheryl was the daughter of the late Walter and Roberta (Brown) Peek. Raised and educated in Rye, Sheryl graduated from Portsmouth High School. She met Frank Hanson and had their two sons, Frank and Shaun and moved to Lee, NH to raise their family. Sheryl loved spending time with her family and many friends, relaxing at the beach, camping with her family, spending time at Lake Winnipesaukee, dancing to good music at country concerts and having many good times at the legion. She was a true New England sports fan and looked forward to watching her Patriots. Sheryl was a light to all who knew her. She had the most beautiful smile and a warm, welcoming presence. She was always happy to be dancing, giggling, and having a fun time. Her family was her greatest joy. She loved her two sons, their wives and her two grandsons beyond measure. They were everything to her and she adored them deeply. Sheryl will be missed deeply, she was so very loved. She is survived by her two sons, Frank Hanson and his wife Kimberly of Nottingham, NH, Shaun Hanson and his wife Jessica of Windham, NH, her grandsons Colby and Julien, Her sisters, Rebecca Peach and her husband Don of Limington, ME, Deborah Knowles and her husband Dana of Seabrook, NH, her brothers, Walter Peek and his wife Diane of Lincoln, ME, Frank Peek and his wife Stephanie of Lincoln, ME, James Peek of Hampton Falls, NH, Gordon Peek and his wife Ina of Seabrook, NH, and Raymond Peek of Contoocook, NH. Her former husband Frank Hanson and wife Cindy of Barrington, NH, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews who she loved. She is predeceased by her beloved parents, Walter, and Roberta Peek. Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Sheryl for a period of visitation on Thursday, January 4, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Remick and Gendron Funeral Home, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton, NH. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 5, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Sheryl will be laid to rest beside her parents in Rye Central Cemetery in the spring of 2024.
