Susan S. Neff

Brentwood - Susan S. Neff, 87, of Brentwood NH, passed peacefully at home on March 5th, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Susan was the beloved wife of Walter Neff for 64 years and the mother of 4 devoted children. She was the daughter of Dr. Arthur and Mary C. Smith of Great Barrington, Massachusetts. Susan is survived by her husband, Walter, of 64 years, daughter, Pam Neff Montembeau, son, John Neff, son, son, Michael Neff all of Southern Maine and daughter, Jacqueline Neff Smith of Exeter and 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Ellen, and brother Stephen and his two children. Shortly after graduating from Colby Sawyer Junior College in New London NH, Susan married Walter Neff. She then travelled with her husband to the Naval Air Station in Kenitra, Morocco where he was stationed for nearly 3 years. In the years of living on the Seacoast, Susan worked in the medical field for years, supported her husband in his family business and attended every child or grandchild’s school sporting event possible. Sue donated her time at the North Hampton Elementary School and in her free time enjoyed being active, playing tennis, golf, walking, mountain hiking, playing bridge and giving to others. She especially loved spending time with her family. Susan spent much of her later years donating her time to those in need. Susan made numerous blood donations to the Red Cross, volunteered at the Hyder House in Dover, NH and had made a long term commitment to the TASC program of Exeter, NH where she provided transportation, time and emotional support to patients in need of medical attention. Visiting hours will be from 4-7pm on Friday, March 21st in the Remick-Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Catholic funeral services will be at 11am, March 22nd at Our Lady of Miraculous Medal Church in Hampton, New Hampshire. A private family burial will follow the church services.
