Tammy Lynn Thurlow

Effingham, NH – Tammy Lynn Thurlow, 52, of Effingham and formerly of Amesbury, MA, passed away at her home, surrounded by those she loved, on Friday, May 19, 2023. Tammy was born in Newburyport, MA on October 11, 1970, a daughter to Joan J. (Fortier) Baker of Amesbury MA and the late Wayne Thurlow, Sr of Seabrook NH. Tammy was raised in Amesbury and attended Amesbury High School. After high school she attended Hesser college and obtained her CMA for medical assistance, being placed on the Deans’ list and President’s list. She reunited with Steve Nihan, Jr., her high school sweetheart, and true love in 2005, and together they shared 18 years of some of the happiest times of her life. She and Steve enjoyed many adventures with kids, traveling and exploring. She also loved going on walks, hiking, and camping. She loved spending time with family, catching up and reminiscing. She enjoyed nothing more than a competitive game of 45s with her first best friends and cousins Sharon and Chucky, and a cutthroat game of Uno with her children. She enjoyed crocheting, and baking for her family and friends. She was a fantastic homemaker and could accomplish anything she set her mind to. She also enjoyed gardening and being an understanding and supporting sister. She had many interests and loves but family was always her top priority. She had a huge heart that she shared selflessly with those she loved. She was a beautiful person, inside and out, and will be sadly missed by all those she loved and all those that loved her back. Tammy is survived by her beloved Steve and her mom, Joan, her daughters, Samantha Ronco and Sarah McAuliffe of Rochester, her son, Nathaniel Duchesne and his wife, Amy, of Manchester and her grandchildren; Walter McAuliffe, Dylan McAuliffe, Dante Ronco and McKenna Duchesne. She also leaves her siblings: Wayne Thurlow and his wife, Teresa, Korey Gray and her husband, Matthew of Shelburne Falls, MA, Kristopher Thurlow and his wife, Ashely, and Kolby Thurlow, all of Seabrook and Carol Perez and her husband, Marty of Yuma, AZ. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 PM on Thursday, May 25, 2023, in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home – Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton, NH. Services will follow the visitation starting at 6 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Breast Cancer Research.
