Tara L. Burkhart

Danville – Tara L. Burkhart, 52, of Danville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 10, 2022 with loving family at her side after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born May 19, 1970 in Lawrence, MA, daughter of Joseph Musumarra of Hampton NH and the late Joan (Barry) Musumarra. Raised on the family farm in Methuen, MA, she graduated from Presentation of Mary Academy in 1989 and later Emanuel College in 1993. Following graduation, she resided in Boston and then Methuen before making Danville her home. A dedicated mom first and foremost, she started her career as a paraprofessional for children with disabilities at Sandown Central and most recently Exeter High School, only after her youngest child entered school. She was devoted to her job and the many children she mentored. Tara loved her town and was dedicated to her community, serving on both the Planning and Zoning Board in Danville, among many other community events. She was a talented artist who had a knack for turning ordinary items into adorable crafts. Like her mother, she loved gardening and working in her yard was a labor of love. She always put others needs before her own and was kind to her core. Despite life’s many challenges, she always remained positive and greeted life with a smile that would light up the room. She shared 24 years of marriage with her best friend and husband, Philip Burkhart III of Danville. In addition to her father and husband, she leaves her children, Annabelle, Maggie and Philip “PJ”; siblings, John Musumarra of Methuen, Erin Shanaver of Hampton, Shallana Musumarra of Gardner, MA, Kendra Musumarra also of Gardner, Trae Musumarra of Laconia and many nieces and nephews whom she very much adored. Visiting hours will be held from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton, NH. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Friday, September 16, 2022 at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, 289 Lafayette Road, Hampton.
