Wilfredo Ruiz

Hampton - It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Wilfredo "Fred" Ruiz, 72, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 1, 1952, in Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico, son of the late Antonio and Antonia (Padilla) Ruiz. He was raised by his late Uncle Lorenzo and Aunt Luz (Torres) Ruiz in Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico. Fred leaves behind his loving and devoted wife, Donna (DelVecchio) Ruiz, with whom he shared 49 years of marriage. His cherished sons, Shawn Ruiz and his wife, Amanda of Hampton, NH, Derek Ruiz Sr. and his wife, Christie of Concord, NH, and Daniel Ruiz and his wife, Joanna of Fremont, NH; his beautiful and loving grandchildren, Aladia, Aslynn, Derek Jr., Gavin Bailey, Violet, Maximus, Maverick, and Marcus Ruiz; and his loyal canine companion, Rango. He is also survived by his dear sisters, Nancy (Ruiz) Vega and her husband, Miguelice of Puerto Rico, and Marie Luz Ruiz of North Carolina. At the age of 29, with his skillful craftsmanship and passion for carpentry, he began his own business, "Reliable Remodeling," in Chelsea, MA, where he resided. He later moved to Hampton, NH, where he lived for 39 years, continuing his remodeling business and opening a flooring retail store, "Tile Plus," in North Hampton, NH, which he operated for 10 years. He was a member and Past Grand Knight of Chelsea Council #83 Knights of Columbus, where he shared many memorable times and charitable events with his brother Knights and their families. He cherished every moment spent with his wife, sons, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren at his timeshare in Weirs Beach, NH. He also enjoyed Sunday family gatherings. His favorite pastimes included watching and cheering on the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots, attending concerts, listening to music, dining out, and playing Keno and the lottery. He is now reunited with his adoring late father-in-law, Alfred DelVecchio, his mother-in-law, Lorraine (Mangone) DelVecchio, and his late sister-in-law, Debra (Napolitano) Frost. He will be sadly missed by his loving sister-in-law, Michelle (DelVecchio) Zirpolo and her husband, Angelo Zirpolo, his brother-in-law, Michael DelVecchio, and many other uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces, family, and friends. He was deeply loved and will be forever missed. Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Fred for a period of visitation on Saturday, March 15, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton, NH 03842.
