Brian Hugh Turbity

May 22, 1945 - June 28, 2019

South Hampton - Brian Hugh Turbity, 74, of South Hampton, left this world on June 28, 2019. Brian was born in Queens, NYC on May 22, 1945, the son of the late Hugh and Lois (Gibbons) Turbity. As a young man, Brian joined the Navy and served in the Vietnam War. Brian started what would become an entrepreneurial adventure. Never afraid to take on a challenge, Brian and Donna started Packaging Progress. They invested in the downtown area of Amesbury when they purchased the Wilman Building and soon started the Stage Two Cinema Pub. They then procured the Ring Street property and created The Barn Pub. Brian was an avid reader, enjoying general knowledge and history. He loved to travel and twice took a cross-country hippie bus adventure ride. He went bungee jumping and jumped off skyscrapers in his beloved Australia, enjoyed luncheons at the boat dock, and fondly remembered the old neighborhood's Monday night pool parties and block parties. The seasonal holidays were especially remembered when enjoyed with friends of the entire family who came to join in the festivities, knowing no invitation was ever required. Brian's life was full and rich. He saw good in everyone and everything. He had many friends and loved ones that will be stronger and better people for knowing him. We thank you Brian for touching our lives and hearts. You are a shining star that will not be forgotten. We love you forever! Brian leaves behind Donna, his loving wife of forty two years and their children, Shannon Turbity, Dvina Valcour (Tim), Hudson Turbity and Nile Turbity and his four grandchildren, Miles Turbity, James Gauthier, Jackson Valcour and Thomas Valcour. He also leaves his sister, Lois Domenico (John) of Moon Twp, PA, along with many loved nieces, nephews and friends who are considered family, especially childhood friend, Bruce Hafner of Cold Spring Harbor, NY. In addition to his parents, Brian was predeceased by his sisters, Joan Ryan and Janice Henkel Peirce, all originally from Woodhaven, New York Please join us for a celebration of Brian’s life on Sunday, August 4, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Stage Two Cinema Pub, 109 Main St. Amesbury, MA.
