Catherine Mary McQuillen

April 5, 1947 - April 9, 2022

Lewisville, TX - Catherine Mary “Kitty” McQuillen was called home to Our Lord on April 9, 2022, at her home in Lewisville Texas. Kitty was the eldest daughter of late Arthur J Smith & Regina M Smith, born in New York, NY in 1947, and would regale us all fondly of growing up in the Bronx and the houses on Sylvan and Cayuga Avenue. Kitty graduated high school from Our Lady of Victory & met the love of her life William “Bill” McQuillen at a dance where he picked her shoe to dance with her. She attended Hunter College in NY before becoming a devoted wife & mother who raised her children, then went back to school earning her BA from Phoenix University while working for Dunfey, later Omni Hotels, before retiring from Comcast Cable Company. Kitty was a woman of strong faith and lived it every day. She was a member of the Women of St Phillip Society, Stephen Minister, Bereavement Minister, RCIA, CASA and Bible Study Group leader. She was previously active in the Knights of Columbus Women’s Auxiliary, Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, and numerous other charitable endeavors through her parishes. Kitty was predeceased by her loving and devoted husband William C McQuillen, and they shared 47 years of friendship, happiness, and love together, raising a family. Kitty’s proudest accomplishment in life was being a mother. She leaves behind her heartbroken children, William and his wife Molly of Portsmouth NH, Matthew and his wife Samantha of Flower Mound, TX, Michael and his wife Deb of Bristol, NH, and Maura and her husband Todd Altschuler of Frisco, CO. She also leaves behind her devastated siblings, Arthur Smith & wife Meredith of Panama City, FL, Michael Smith & wife Maria of Atlanta, GA, sister Regina Tegeler & husband John of Martinsville, NJ, sister Mary Ellen Simpson & husband Tom of St Petersburg, FL, brother Daniel Smith & wife Linda of Red Wing, MN and brother Gerard Smith and his fiancée Brenda Medina of Minneapolis, MN. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren Liam, Brendan, Bailey, Trevor, Miranda, Emily and Aubrey, and great granddaughter Adalyn. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, 289 Lafayette Rd., Hampton, NH. Burial will be beside her husband in the Calvary Cemetery, Portsmouth, NH. A Mass of Remembrance will be celebrated at 1 PM on June 11, 2022 at St Philip the Apostle Church in Flower Mound, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Saint Philip the Apostle Church at https://www.wesharegiving.org/app/giving/WeShare-3460?tab=home
