Amesbury, MA – Charles “Whiskey” Coles, 68, of Amesbury, died Sunday, May, 30, 2021 at his home after a sudden illness. He was born in Lowell, MA July 16, 1952 a son of the late James and Hilda (Hamilton) Coles. He was raised in Hampton, NH attended local schools and graduated from Winnacunnet High School with the Class of 1970. Charlie worked as a furniture builder and wood finisher for Amesbury Chair for many years as well as a cook at Lena’s Seafood in Salisbury. He also managed the go cart track at Captains Corner and would stomp around in a gorilla suit at Captains Corner Miniature Golf entertaining the children. Charlie was a selfless man and would give the shirt of his back to those in need. He was an avid guitar player and collector. He enjoyed writing song lyrics, playing the guitar as well as teaching guitar lessons to the younger generation. He leaves four children, Aimee Amirault and her husband Jason, Nikita Howard, Nathan Jean and his wife Gina, Charles Jean and his wife Nadine, 12 grandchildren, five siblings, James “Buster” Cole, Jr., Rick, Mike and Bill Coles, Cindy Newell and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by siblings Johnny and Robert Kristiansen and Evelyn Perkins. Visiting hours will be held from 5-8 P.M. Monday, June 7, 2021 at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton, NH. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
