Claire Hochschwender Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Rye Beach - Claire Hochschwender, 94, of Juno Beach, Florida, passed peacefully on April 30, 2022. Prior to Juno Beach she was a resident of Rye Beach, NH for 28 years and a communicant of St. Theresa Parish in Rye Beach. She was born on December 31, 1927 to Louis and Dorothy Hamel in Haverhill Mass, the fourth of seven children. After graduating Rogers Hall High School in Lowell Mass, she attended Rosemont College in Pennsylvania where she received a bachelor’s degree in art. Claire and her beloved husband Jerry of 39 years were the owners of The Greenery In Hampton, NH, the premiere garden center on the seacoast of NH from 1979 to 1994. She was predeceased by her husband Jerry and her daughter Jody of Arlington, VA. She is survived by Jody’s children Claire, Luke and Mary. Her son Tony and his wife Michelle of Rye, NH along with their children Heather, Sara, Jeremy and Max. Her daughter Amy and her husband Jeff of North Hampton, NH and their children Courtney and Cody. Her son Tim and his wife Cindy of Epsom, NH along with their children Jessica and Tyler. Her son David and his wife Chris of Newfields, NH along with their children Jake, Ben, and Sam. Her two great grandsons, Wyatt Ramos of Dover, NH and Thomas Hochschwender of Ladera Ranch, CA. She is also survived by many close and wonderful friends in Florida where she has lived for the last 15 years. She was much loved. We will all miss her, but take comfort in the thought of her being reunited with all those who passed before her. Visiting hours will be from held from 4 to 6 PM on Sunday, May 8, 2022 in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Rd., Hampton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Monday, May 9, 2022 at St. Theresa Parish, 815 Central Rd., Rye Beach. Interment will be in the Central Cemetery, Rye.
