Claudette F. Bradley
April 4, 1939 - January 20, 2022
Hampton - Claudette F. (Landry) Bradley, 82, of Hampton, passed away on January 20, 2022 at home surrounded by her family. She was born April 4, 1939 in Nashua, to the late George and Anita (Maynard) Landry. Raised in Nashua and attended St. Louis de Gonzague School and graduated from Nashua High School with the class of 1957. For many years she worked in the office of Student Affairs at Rivier College. She was a communicant of St. Aloysius Parish in Nashua where she volunteered as a lector, church secretary, and advisor for the parish’s Catholic Youth Organization. She moved to Hampton in 1977 when she and her husband purchased a motel, the Twin Oaks Motor Haven. There she met many great friends who have remained in her life to this day. Most notably, she worked for nearly three decades at the Hampton Union and it’s parent company Seacoast Media Group as the obituary editor, among many of her varied duties. Claudette was the matriarch of the Stratham newsroom and provided the first line of defense when a member of the public demanded to speak with a reporter or editor. Her infectious laugh and wit enlightened the mood in the room, particularly on difficult news days. She was a bit of a prankster, and gave as well as she got but she took her job quite seriously, and had high standards when editing obituaries so that they conformed with proper AP style. In fact, the professional editor in her might disapprove of the remembrances in this notice, though we suspect she would be grateful at the same time. Claudette was predeceased by her husband Richard “Dick” Bradley in 2014. She is survived by two sons, Jeffrey Bradley of Hampton, and Richard and Kathleen Bradley of Derry; four granddaughters, Allison (Bradley) Jodoin and her husband Joe of Nottingham, Kellie (Bradley) Ward and her husband Armand of Hooksett, Emily Bradley and partner Robson Portes of Epping, and Katrina Bradley and partner Nicholas Mroz of Woburn, MA; five great grandsons; her brother, Norman Landry and his wife Louise of Old Saybrook, CT; two sisters, Lorraine Dionne of Nashua, and Dr. Jacqueline Landry of Belmont; and many nieces and nephews. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:45 A.M. Saturday, February 12, 2022 at St. Aloysius Gonzague Church, 48 West Hollis Street, Nashua and is open to the public so many of her friends will be welcome. A celebration of life reception will be held following the mass. Spring interment will be in St. Louis Cemetery, Nashua.. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital Assistance with the arrangements was by the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, Hampton.
