Daniel S. Smith Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Hampton – Daniel S. Smith, 58 died peacefully on Friday morning, February 11, 2022 with family holding his hands. Born in Rockville Centre, NY on December 16, 1963, he was a son of the late Robert and Helen (Reindel) Smith. Raised in Campbell Hall, NY, he graduated from Washingtonville High School with the Class of 1982. He played tackle for the Washington Wizards football team freshman through senior years. He went on to attend Cornell University for three years before busting out in 1985. Dan was a self-employed master electrician and serial entrepreneur, most recently operating Integrity Electric. He started his first business Express Errands in Ithaca, NY in 1995. He was a loving father, devoted husband, wonderful brother, favored uncle and brother-in-law, and amazing friend, Dan was brilliant, kind, strong, fun to be around and well-liked by anyone who knew him. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed bicycling, hiking, swimming and watching football. His greatest joy was spending time with family, coaching his kids’ soccer teams, and attending their swim and track meets. He shared almost 26 years of marriage with his wife Carolyn (Keenan) Smith of Hampton. In addition to his wife, surviving family members include his children, Robert F. Smith of Boston and Marjorie H. Smith of Hampton; siblings, Winnie Shapiro of Fairfax, VA, twins, Tom Smith of Sun City West, AZ, Linda Badaryan of Lompoc, CA, and Nancy Hodges and her husband Charlie of El Mirage, AZ; 11 brother & sister in laws, many dear friends and neighbors, and his Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity brothers. In addition to his parents Robert and Helen (Reindel) Smith, he was predeceased by his parent-in-laws Francis and Marjorie Keenan and brother in laws Paul Shapiro, Sri Badaryan, and Frank Keenan. Visiting hours will be held from 1-4 PM on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 AM on Monday, February 21, 2022 at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Parish, 289 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
