Edwin C. Gowing Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Kingston, NH – Edwin C. “Ted” Gowing Jr., 86, of Kingston, NH and Winter Haven Florida and a former resident of Waltham, MA, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, March 19, 2022 surrounded by his wife and loving family. Ted was born in Carbondale, PA on June 6, 1935, a son of the late Edwin and Mae (Mellen) Gowing, Sr. He shared 43 years of beautiful marriage with his wife, Marjorie A. (Malloy) Gowing. Ted raised his family in Melrose and Waltham, MA. He was the epitome of being an entrepreneur, owning many businesses over the years, some of which are still owned and operated by his children. He and Marjorie tried retirement several times but Ted, not one to sit still, came out of retirement and started something new. They relocated to Exeter, NH in 1986 after all the children left the house and enjoyed spending the winters at the Colony Club Estates in Winter Haven, FL where they made many dear friends. Ted and Marjorie also enjoyed visiting the Caribbean Islands together whenever they had the chance. Ted was an avid reader and loved going to yard sales where he very rarely came back empty handed. In addition to his beloved Marjorie, Ted leaves his children: Glyn Gowing and wife, Jo Lin of Longview, TX and Michael Gowing and wife, Monique of Nashua, NH, Maria McCormick of Lorida, FL, Frank Cusano of Nottingham, NH, Allen Cusano and wife, Marianne of Hampton, NH, and Thomas Cusano and wife, Jacqueline of Raymond, NH, Paul Cusano and wife, Lori of Epping, NH, Christine Cusano and husband, Keith Dias, of Kingston, NH. He also leaves his 18 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, his sisters, Delores Gowing of Moosic, PA and Karen Boulio of Tucson, AZ as well as several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his sons, Thomas Gowing and Stephen Cusano. At Ted’s request, services will be private with burial in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of traditional remembrances, donations may be made to the ARDS Foundation
