George H. Trefethen Jr.

April 18, 1933 - December 16, 2019

Lee - George H. Trefethen, Jr., 86, of Lee, died peacefully at his home on Monday, December 16th, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Exeter on April 18, 1933, a son of the late George and Lora (Bragg) Trefethen. George was a long-time resident of Lee and he honorably served his country as a Sergeant with the United States Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed a long career as a mechanic in the seacoast region and he was an avid bow hunter and outdoorsman, using his talents to become a bow hunting instructor. He cherished his time in the woods with his many hunting buddies and he enjoyed hobbies like working on small engines, crafting beautiful custom bows and going on long walks in the woods, even in the cold winter! He is survived by his loving wife Carol (Eaton) Trefethen of Lee, his son, Robert and his wife Cindy, his daughter Diane, his daughter BJ and her husband Bill, his son Dave and his wife Vern, and his daughter Donna as well as his sister Flora of ME. "Bumpa" will also be dearly missed by his ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Jenny. In addition to his parents, George was predeceased by his younger brother Robert. George's wishes were to have no services or fanfare at his passing. If you knew him, you can probably hear him saying this. He had quite the sense of humor and could sometimes be very stern, but he could also be the most kind and loving person you've ever met. Bumpa's smile will live in our memories, and his spirit will live in our hearts forever.
