Gordon A. "Gordy" Colman

February 22, 1947 - November 21, 2021

Hampton – Gordon Allen “Gordy” Colman, 74, of Hampton, passed away peacefully at the Exeter Hospital on Sunday, November 21, 2021. Gordy was born in Lawrence, MA, on February 22, 1947, a son of the late J. Gordon and Ruth M. (Allen) Colman. Gordy’s family moved to Hampton Beach in 1954 and he graduated from Winnacunnet High with the Class of 1965. He attended the former Portsmouth Vo-Tech and then went to work as a cook at Lamie’s Tavern and Tony’s Diner for several years. After that he married Lorraine Morgan and moved to Haverhill MA and worked in a furniture factory and Borden Chemicals. Gordy then moved to Lynn, MA for recovery from an auto accident and worked in construction until 1990. He returned to Hampton in the early 1990’s and cooked at the Beachside, L Street and Le Bec Rouge restaurants at the beach and also, as a partner in the family business, Carmen’s Diner in East Kingston. He was well known at Hampton Beach where he enjoyed dancing in many of the local establishments. His fun-loving personality was infectious and never had trouble finding a dance partner. Gordy also enjoyed playing darts and shooting pool. He is survived by his daughter Deborah Plourde and her husband, Jeffrey of Hampton, his son Ronald Colman and his wife, Annie of Oxford, CT, his 3 grandchildren, Talon, Ariha and Martha and his brother, Robert Colman of Hampton. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the NH SPCA, PO Box 196, Stratham, NH 03885
