James V. Wilson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Haverhill, MA – James V. Wilson, 89, of Haverhill, Lawrence and snowbird of Barefoot Bay, FL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 21, 2021. He was born in Haverhill on June 21, 1932 a son of the late Robert and Elizabeth (McColl) Wilson. Raised in Lawrence, he graduated from Central Catholic High School with the Class of 1952. He went on to proudly serve 4 years in the United States Navy. He later graduated from Lowell Tech with a degree in Engineering. Returning home from the service, he met his future wife of 63 years and true love, Ida (Gangi) Wilson and together they settled in Lawrence and raised their family. James worked as an engineer for Raytheon, retiring in 1992 after almost 30 years. James was a former member of the Methuen Council K of C #4027. He loved spending summers in the family’s home at Salisbury Beach, where he had many fond memories. He was an avid golfer who enjoyed watching sports, especially college football. In addition to his wife, surviving family members include his beloved daughters, Mary-Jo Frechette of North Andover, Jean Wilson of Ogunquit, ME, Lori St. Hilaire and her husband Michael of Methuen and Christine Bouchard and her husband Kevin of Derry, NH; brother, Robert Wilson and his partner Sandy Putney of Danbury, NH; grandchildren, Michael, Erin, Katie, Rachel, John, Megan and Andrew; great grandchildren, Matthew, Madysn and Jack; sister in law, Maryann Wilson; several nieces, nephews and many dear extended family members. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Margaret Baker, Sister Jean Wilson, William Wilson, John Wilson and son in law, Ron Frechette. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at St. Lucy Church, 254 Merrimack Street, Methuen, MA 01844. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
