Joanna Geib Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Hampton Falls, NH – Joanna F. Geib, 81, of Hampton Falls, died peacefully Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at Heights Crossing Memory Care in Brockton, MA. She was born in Providence, RI, January 12, 1934 the daughter of the late Edward and Gertrude (Fairbanks) Gough. Joanna graduated in 1952 from Hampton Academy, Hampton. She then received an academic scholarship to Boston University, where she went on to be a very talented and accomplished athlete, graduating with the Class of 1956. She taught physical education at Radcliff, Harvard and Portsmouth High School in New Hampshire and adult education classes at Walpole High School in Massachusetts. She finished her career at King Phillips High School as a special education teacher with her late Husband Robert Geib, who was the assistant principal. Some of her proudest achievements include being the choir director at Boston University and being a member of the Sweet Adeline Barbershop Quartet. Family members include her 3 children, Mark Geib of Brockton, MA, Jeffrey Geib of Norton, MA, and Cynthia Geib of Mansfield; 3 grandchildren, Sara, Megan and Kathryn Geib Joanna is loved deeply by her family and friends and will be missed greatly. Services will be held at 2 PM Saturday, December 19, 2015 in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Burial will follow at the New Brookside Cemetery, Hampton Falls.
