John W. Chalpin, DMD Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Stratham – John W. Chalpin, DMD, 74, of Stratham, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 17, 2022. He was born March 9, 1948 in Boston, MA a son of the late John F. and Florence (Baclawski) Chalpin. Raised in Boston, he graduated Boston College High School at the age of 16. He went on to graduate from Boston College and Tufts School of Dentistry. He proudly served in the US Navy as a dentist, stationed at Naval Air Station Patuxent River in St. Mary’s County, Md. John was a well-respected Doctor of Medical Dentistry for over 45 years and was past President of the New Hampshire Dental Society. He owned and operated a number of dental practices throughout New Hampshire, most recently with a practice in Stratham. He loved his profession and his patients, often greeting patients with a hug. Always responding to emergency calls as he did not want people to be in pain and he never refused to treat anyone, even knowing they might not be able to pay. John had a dry sense of humor and sought to find some humor in all situations. He was deeply loved, and will be deeply missed. Aside from dentistry, John had a passion for aviation and held a pilot’s license. He was also an avid reader who enjoyed fine dining, collecting menus autographed by chefs and recreating restaurant fare at home with a glass of “cooking wine” in hand. He enjoyed vacationing on Maui where he and his wife, Patricia were married at sunset, deep sea fishing, boating and photography. Surviving family members include his wife, Patricia (Tims) Chalpin of Stratham; son, John Paul of Bel Air, MD and several cousins in the Boston area All services were private.
