Judith Southard

Hampton – Judith Southard, 77, of Hampton, formerly of Lynn, MA, fell asleep in the Lord on Sunday February 20, 2022 at home. She was a daughter of Gerry Southard and the late Ernest Southard Sr. Raised in Saugus, MA she graduated from Saugus High School and went on to receive her MSW/BS from Salem State College; coursework for a Doctorate in Theology at Boston University and an Associates at North Shore College. Judith was one of the first women draft persons at GE, Aircraft Engine and taught CAD/CAM and was promoted to Analyst. She retired after 17 years. She practiced SW at the Lynn Lead Paint Program. She attended United Methodist Church in Lynn, MA, and West Congregational Church in Haverhill, MA She spent many years volunteering at my Brother’s Table and as a Social Worker for Mt. Pleasant Hospital in Lynn, MA. She served as President and Treasurer of the local DAR Chapter and Daughters of the Mayflower. Judith is a published genealogist. She traveled globally and pursued activities related to history, faith and arts while also vacationing in Maine and NH. In addition to her mother, she leaves behind her 3 children, Cherie, William and his spouse Renee and Peter and his spouse Shannon; 5 grandchildren; sister, Phyllis and many cousins and relatives. Judy was widowed and predeceased by her husband, Arthur Oestrich. All services will be private.
