Margaret M. McCue Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Rye - Margaret Mary (Nolan) McCue, of Rye, formerly of Arlington MA, peacefully passed away July 28, 2022 at her home surrounded by loving family at the age of 90. Margaret was born to Christopher A. Nolan and Anna (Hendrick) Nolan of Arlington. She was proudly the youngest of seven children. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Charles J. McCue Sr., and two children, Peter McCue and Betsy McCue. Margaret is survived by her loving children, Mark and Mary McCue of Boston MA, Katie and Ralph Kenawell of Melrose MA, Chuck and Kim McCue of Portsmouth, NH and Maureen and Louis Falcone of Mashpee MA. The joy of Margaret’s life will live on in her love for her eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Margaret was blessed with wonderful, lasting friendships throughout her life. Margaret attended St. Agnes School in Arlington prior to graduating from Arlington High School in 1949 where ‘Musical Margaret’ played in the school marching band. She then attended the Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School before beginning her fulfilling fourteen year career with the Hercules Powder Company, commuting to the John Hancock building in downtown Boston daily. After marrying her beloved Charlie on October 3, 1964 and lovingly accepting his three children as her own, she devoted her life to building loving, joyful homes for her family in both Arlington and Rye. Upon moving to Rye permanently in 1981, Margaret spent many years dedicating her time volunteering throughout the Seacoast area. A communicant of St. Theresa Parish, Margaret taught CCD, served as a eucharistic minister and worked on various committees. She also took great pleasure in her volunteer work at Seacoast Birthright helping young women in need. Margaret was an avid reader, often found on her sunny deck enjoying a latest bestseller. She was a talented knitter who took great pleasure in crafting pieces for her loved ones. She enjoyed a good puzzle, game show challenge, or trivia quiz of any kind. Her infectious smile, generous heart and feisty spirit made her a friend to all. She enjoyed cross country trips with her husband, days at the beach with her children, and watching Red Sox games with her grandchildren. Her life centered around her faith which she exemplified in every aspect of her life. Visiting hours will be from 4 to 7 PM on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Thursday at St. Theresa Church, 815 Central Road, Rye Beach. Burial will follow in Central Cemetery, Rye.
