Mary L. Grabowski

May 19, 1966 - October 22, 2020

Seabrook – Mary L. Grabowski, 54, of Seabrook, former longtime resident of Newburyport, MA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 22, 2020 after a short but courageous battle with cancer., She was born in Cicero, IL on May 19, 1966 a daughter of the late Milton and Eleanor (Buckman) Hughes. Raised in Newburyport, she graduated from Newburyport High School with the Class of 1984. She went on to attend Northern Essex Community College, before dedicating her life to raising her family. She worked over 20 years as a bus driver for Newburyport Public Schools and as a lunch monitor for the Francis T. Bresnahan Elementary School in Newburyport. She truly loved working with children and she cherished the countless memories and friends she made. Mary enjoyed riding ATV’s and camping, especially spending time around the camp fire with family and friends. Her greatest joy was her family and she never missed one of her sons many sporting events. Surviving family members include her best friend and husband of 31 years, David Grabowski of Seabrook; sons, DJ Grabowski and his fiancée Heather and Jeremy Grabowski and his fiancée Kassandra all of Seabrook; siblings, Diane Wright of Amesbury, MA, Tom Hughes and his wife Tami of Port St. Lucie, FL and Robert Hughes and his wife Denise of Amesbury; niece, Jessica Wright and her son Declan Flaherty; nephew Steven Wright and his wife Jessica their son Jackson and daughter Marabelle; sister-in-law’s, Leslie Wallen and her husband Christopher, Elizabeth Fenske and her husband Michael; brother-in-law’s, John Grabowski and his wife Christine and Mark Grabowski and his wife Lisa, her lifelong friend Allison Hull and husband Joe and many more nieces, nephews and extended family. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Michael Hughes. Visiting hours will be held from 4 - 8 PM on Friday, October 30, 2020 in the Remick-Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Due to COVID-19 all services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family in their time of need by visiting their GoFundMe page .
