Mary A. Sanborn

March 24, 1932 - June 15, 2020

East Kingston – Mary A. Sanborn, 88, of East Kingston, formerly of Seabrook, died peacefully on Monday, June 15, 2020 at her home. She was born in Newburyport, MA, a daughter of the late Albert and Dorothy (Abbott) Ellery. Mary was raised in Newburyport, MA and later moved to Seabrook in 1951 to be with her late husband of over 60 years, Charles E. Sanborn who died in 2008. She later moved to Exeter for a number of years and finally East Kingston where she spent her last years. Mrs. Sanborn worked at the former Seacoast Health Center in Hampton for over 20 years. She also taught Sunday school at Trinity United Church in Seabrook where Mary was a longtime member. Family members include her daughters, Cheryl McDevitt of Seabrook, Karen Walton and her husband Brian of East Kingston, Betsy Messina and her husband John of Rochester; sister, Peggy Lambert of Tyngsborough, MA; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and many friends. She was predeceased by her daughter, Patricia Jones; her brothers, Frederick Ellery, Albert Ellery, Jr. and her sisters, Grace Conwell, Eleanor Ball, Lucy Wyman and Maude Mantarian. A visiting hour will be held from 11 AM – 12 PM on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Services will immediately follow at 12 PM in the funeral home. Burial will be private.
