Patricia Staples Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Seabrook – Patricia (Dow) Staples, 86, of Seabrook, passed away on July 8, 2022 after a lengthy illness. She was born on March 2, 1936 in Amesbury, MA to the late James Dow and Jeannette (Gauthier) Blanchard. Patricia was raised in Seabrook and was a 1954 graduate of Amesbury High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society. She worked as a receptionist for the Portsmouth Visiting Nurses throughout the 1970’s and 80’s as a receptionist. She then worked for Staples Mobile Home Park of Seabrook until her retirement. Patricia and her late husband, George W. Staples, who predeceased her in December of 2018, had a passion for traveling. The couple enjoyed venturing to many places including Ball, South Korea, Panama, Hawaii, Alaska; and many countries in Europe such as Ireland, Germany and Austria. Patricia and George met in 1966 and married on June 28, 1980. They also enjoyed wintering in Englewood, FL. She had many likes and hobbies, which included line dancing for over 30 years. She made many friends from this activity. She also enjoyed playing Dominoes, swimming in her pool, Seabrook Senior Center trips, trivia, geography, history (especially of the first ladies of the United States of America) and listening to country music. Her greatest source of pride in her life was always her family. She leaves behind her daughters Doreen Bornstein and her husband Joel, Debra Locke and her husband Terry Sr., all of Seabrook, Delores Reedy and her husband Fred Jr. of Lake Wylie, SC, Shari Brown of Laconia and son Robert Eaton of South Berwick, ME, nine grandchildren: Lewis Eaton and wife Stacey of Hampstead, NH, Keith Eaton and wife Megan of Seabrook, Fred Reedy, III and wife Echo, Matthew Reedy and wife Jessica, all of Cumming, GA, Terry Locke, Jr., and wife Nicole of Andover, NH, Darren Locke of Seabrook, Patreece Lawrence and husband Kurt of Hampstead, NC, Tricia Brown and fiancé Ian Newhall of Rollinsford and Meaghan Eaton of Seabrook, 17 great grandchildren and brother Richard Blanchard of Englewood, FL. Besides her husband of 38 years she was predeceased by her brother Robert Dow who passed away April 19, 2022 and her precious great granddaughter Ella Reedy. The family would like to extend their most sincere thanks to Cornerstone of Hampton for their wonderful care of the matriarch of the family. Patricia was the type of person to be kind, compassionate, intelligent and quite social, craving new experiences and endeavors. She was regarded by all who knew her as always being funny, optimistic, forgiving, gentle and ambitious. Visiting hours will be from 5-7 P.M. Thursday, July 14, 2022 at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Services will be held at 11 A.M. Friday, July 15, 2022 in the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Wildwood Cemetery, Seabrook. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
