Phyllis A. Pomerleau

April 24, 1924 - March 6, 2021

Portsmouth– Phyllis A. Pomerleau, 96, of Portsmouth, died Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Portsmouth Regional Hospital after a period of failing health. She was born in Boston, MA April 24, 1924 a daughter of the late Philip and Cycla (Shorey) Saluto. Phyllis was employed as a secretary for the former Yankee Milk Company in North Andover, MA and was employed by AT&T and Verizon. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Parish and enjoyed walking and golf. She volunteered for 35 years for IMEC / International Medical Equipment Donations working with doctors and nurses securing medical supplies and equipment for medical outreach centers to ship to the less fortunate nationally and internationally. She shared 44 years of marriage with her husband Arthur Pomerleau. In addition to her husband she leaves two stepdaughters, Diane Pineo of North Hampton and Lois Carroll of Hampton, her half-sister Jacquelyn Scott of Florida, her cousin, Shirley Weller of Pennsylvania six step grandchildren,longtime family friend, Alice Holding of Portsmouth, and is remembered fondly by her niece Lisa Szambel and nephew Craig Szambel and their families from New York. She was predeceased by her younger sister Betty Szambel. Services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Thursday, March 18, 2021 at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may call at the funeral home from 11 A.M. until the hour of the service. Burial will follow in the High Street Cemetery, Hampton. In lieu of traditional remembrances, donations may be made to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church OutReach Program, 289 Lafayette Road, Hampton, NH 03842.
