Hampton – Rosemary Mantegani, 67, of Hampton and formerly of Boston, MA, passed away peacefully at the Exeter Hospital on Thursday, August 9, 2018 after an extended illness. Rose was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA on February 27, 1951, a daughter of the Late Francis and Dorothy (Conway) Price. She was raised in Levittown, PA and after graduating from nursing school in Trenton, NJ, Rose went to work at Massachusetts General Hospital. After 10 years at MGH, she attended Tufts Medical and completed her Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist qualification and went to work at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, MA. Rose moved on to Beverly Hospital and retired from nursing in 2016. Rose was well respected and held in high esteem by her medical peers for her knowledge and professional performance. She and her devoted husband, Peter A. Mantegani moved from Boston to Hampton in the mid-1990s. Rose was devoted to her family and was so looking forward to becoming a great grandmother later this month. She and Peter were inseparable and loved traveling with their favorite destinations being Saratoga, NY and Tierra Verde in St. Petersburg, FL. Family was everything to Rose and she is survived by Pete, her husband of over 30 years, her sister, Jane Osmon of Florence, NJ, her stepchildren, Peter C. Mantegani and his wife Linda of Newmarket and Anne Marie Mantegani and partner Michael Sullivan of Weymouth, MA, her stepgrandchildren, Sarah Rasheed and her husband, Jamal, Robert Mantegani and Nicholas Mantegani and his wife Alexandra. A memorial gathering will be held from 6 to 9 PM on Friday, August 24, 2018 at the Victoria Inn, 430 High St., Hampton. The family sends a special thanks to Rockingham VNA & Hospice for their attentive care of Rose during her illness.
